COL BKB: Purdue 77, IUPU-FW 52

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- JaJuan Johnson put in 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds Monday, sparking No. 13 Purdue to an easy 77-52 win over IUPU-Fort Wayne.

D.J. Byrd added 15 points while E'Twaun Moore contributed 11 points, six assists and five boards for Purdue (11-1).

After trailing in the early going, the Boilermakers took the lead for good on five straight points by Johnson, including a 3-pointer and slam dunk for a 13-9 lead 4 minutes into the contest.

That sparked an 11-2 run and Purdue then cruised to a 33-21 halftime advantage, after which they were never seriously challenged.

IUPU-Fort Wayne (7-4) was led by Oleg Kovalov with 12 points.
