Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

WASHINGTON, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Nick Young scored 21 points Monday and the Washington Wizards broke a seven-game skid with a 108-75 rout of Charlotte.
Andray Blatche added 19 points and Kirk Hinrich chipped in with 18 points and 11 assists for the Wizards, who beat the Bobcats for the first time since March 2009.
Washington got 13 points from Al Thornton and JaVale McGee contributed 10 points and blocked five blocks.
Charlotte, which lost its third straight, got 13 points from Stephen Jackson, but he also committed six turnovers.
The Bobcats got 10 points each from Kwame Brown and Tyrus Thomas.
