NASHVILLE, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Ryan Smyth got two goals and the Los Angeles Kings scored four times in the first period Saturday en route to a 6-1 bashing of Nashville.

Justin Williams, Trevor Lewis, Drew Doughty and Smyth all found the net in the initial frame and the Kings held a 4-1 advantage after the first 20 minutes.

Alexei Ponikarovsky added a goal while Oscar Moller, Dustin Brown and Jarret Stoll each recorded two assists in the one-sided affair.

Jonathan Bernier played well in goal for Los Angeles, stopping 29-of-30 shots.

Nashville's lone goal went to Steve Sullivan and starting goalie Anders Lindback was pulled after allowing the first three goals for the Predators, whose five-game winning streak ended with a thud.
