DENVER, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Kevin Porter and T.J. Galiardi each notched second-period goals Sunday, boosting the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 victory over Montreal.
Porter's goal 4 minutes into the middle frame erased a 2-1 Montreal lead and Galiardi added the go-ahead tally with less than 4 minutes remaining in the stanza, firing a wrist shot past Carey Price.

Ryan Wilson added a power play goal, Ryan O'Reilly notched a pair of assists and Craig Anderson turned aside 27-of-29 shots, including 14 in the final period as the Avs extended their season-best winning streak to six games.
Michael Cammalleri and Alexandre Picard scored for the Habs, who began their longest road trip of the season with a loss.
Price made 25 saves for Montreal.
