
ARLINGTON, Texas, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- David Buehler booted a 39-yard field goal with 50 seconds remaining in the game Sunday, lifting the Dallas Cowboys to a 33-30 decision over Washington.
Jon Kitna drove the Cowboys from their own 48-yard line to Washington's 21 in six plays to set up the game-winner, highlighted by a 12-yard pass to Miles Austin on first down.
Kitna ended the day with two TD passes and 305 yards on 25-of-37 passing efficiency and the Cowboys (5-9) won the for the fourth time in six tries under interim head Coach Jason Garrett.
Austin scored on a TD pass, Buehler went 4-for-5 on field goal attempts and Jason Witten logged 10 catches for 140 yards and a score for the victors.
The Redskins (5-9) roared back from a 20-point deficit but ultimately came up short, losing for the fourth straight week.
Rex Grossman threw for 322 yards and Santana Moss made eight catches for 72 yards and two scores in Washington's defeat.
