Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
LAS VEGAS, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Anthony Marshall scored 17 points and Carlos Lopez hauled down 11 rebounds Saturday, propelling No. 22 Nevada-Las Vegas to a 72-50 win over Southern Utah.
Marshall went 6-of-9 from the field and Lopez added 12 off the bench for the Rebels (10-2), who avoided a second straight loss and likely retained their Top-25 ranking.
Quintrell Thomas collected seven rebounds and Chace Stanback chipped in with nine points for UNLV, which downed Southern Utah for the 21st straight time.
Matt Hodgson came off the bench to lead the Thunderbirds (3-8) with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
