Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

VILLANOVA, Pa., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Corey Fisher and Maalik Wayns combined for 35 points Saturday, powering No. 11 Villanova's 78-59 victory over Delaware.
Fisher put in 21 points, going 7-of-13 from the floor, Wayns added 14, and James Bell and Corey Stokes each chipped in 10 more for the Wildcats (9-1), winners of four straight.
Villanova put the game away after the Blue Hens cut their deficit to 39-34 thanks to D.J. Boney's 3-point play with 14 1/2 minutes left in the second half. The Wildcats responded to Delaware's push with a decisive 14-0 run.
Delaware's Jawan Carter scored 14 points and Jamelle Hagins added 12 points in the loss.
