NEW YORK, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh star Sidney Crosby, Washington captain Alex Ovechkin and former NHL great Jeremy Roenick will appear on "The Price Is Right," the NHL said Tuesday.
The league said the trio will be on the Dec. 20 edition of the CBS game show to present an NHL-themed showcase that includes a trip to Pittsburgh's Heinz Field to attend the Jan. 1 NHL Winter Classic outdoor hockey game between the Penguins and the Capitals.
Crosby, Ovechkin, Roenick and "Price Is Right" host Drew Carey will team up to offer tickets to the game as well as VIP passes to the league's New Year's Eve Bash and field and ice-level access during the Capitals and Penguins Dec. 31 team practices at the field.
The two teams were also girding for the airing Wednesday of the first episode of HBO's "24/7 Penguins-Capitals: Road to the Winter Classic," for which documentary film crews have been granted close access to the Pens and Caps in the run-up to the outdoor game.
"I'm wondering how it's going to come out, obviously, and if I do any stupid thing on there," Penguins defenseman Kris Letang told NHL.com.
