DETROIT, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Jonathan Quick
stopped 51 shots in a shutout performance Monday, backing a potent Los Angeles offense in the Kings' 5-0 whitewash of Detroit.
Quick's 51 saves were a career high and included an amazing 26 stops in the second period alone. The Kings' netminder notched his second shutout of the season and 10th of his career.
Drew Doughty collected a goal and two assists while Jack Johnson, Oscar Moller, Anze Kopitar and Wayne Simmonds netted goals and Dustin Brown contributed two helpers in the win.
Jimmy Howard made 21 saves on 26 shots for the Red Wings.
