SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Ryane Clowe buried a slap shot with 1:08 left in overtime Saturday, delivering the San Jose Sharks a 2-1 victory over Chicago.

Clowe's goal off assists from Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Justin Braun backed Antti Niemi's 28-save performance for the Sharks.

Vlasic notched a pair of assists for the victors.

Jordan Hendry got the only goal for the Blackhawks and Corey Crawford made 28 stops in the defending NHL champions' loss.
