Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MONTREAL, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Jeff Halpern backed Carey Price's 27 saves with a go-ahead third-period goal Tuesday and the Montreal Canadiens bested Ottawa 4-1.
Brian Gionta added a goal and an assist for Montreal, which also got tallies from Roman Hamrlik and Michael Cammalleri while winning its third straight.
The Senators, who lost for the fourth time in five games, got their only goal from Nick Foligno.
Pascal Leclaire allowed three goals on 33 shots before leaving the game with an unspecified injury with 4:22 remaining. Alex Auld finished up and let in one goal on two shots.
