Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ATLANTA, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Zach Bogosian's goal 2:11 into overtime Monday lifted the Atlanta Thrashers to their eighth win in nine games, 3-2 over Nashville.
Thrashers winger Ben Eager collected a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated into the Nashville zone and hit Bogosian with a cross-ice pass. The Atlanta defenseman then released a quick shot into a wide-open net to end the game.
The Thrashers also got goals from Andrew Ladd and Jim Slater to back the goaltending of Ondrej Pavelec, who turned aside 27-of-29 shots.
The Predators blew a two-goal lead as their three-game winning streak came to end.
Steve Sullivan and Colin Wilson scored and Anders Lindback made 34 saves in Nashville's defeat.
