VIRGINIA WATER, England, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Graeme McDowell's playoff win over Tiger Woods in the Chevron World Challenge earned him a Top 10 spot in the men's world golf rankings released Monday.

McDowell beat Woods on the first playoff hole Sunday. The victory jumped him from 11th to a career-high no. 7 ranking. He ended last year ranked 39th.

Lee Westwood won the Nedbank Golf Challenge and kept the No. 1 spot in the rankings. Had he not won and Woods had taken the Chevron title, Woods would have returned to the top spot.

With Westwood and Woods first and second in the rankings, Martin Kaymer is still third and Phil Mickelson fourth but the rest of the Top 10 had some juggling.

Jim Furyk moved from sixth to fifth, switching places with Steve Stricker while McDowell's move to No. 7 pushed Paul Casey down one spot to eighth. Luke Donald is again ninth but Ian Poulter slipped from eighth to 10th and Rory McIlroy was dropped to 11th.
