BELGRADE, Serbia, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Victor Troicki and Novak Djokovic won their singles matches in Belgrade Sunday, rallying Serbia to its first-ever Davis Cup title, 3-2 over France.
Troicki, 24, ranked 30th in the world, got the straight-set win over No. 23 Michael Llodra, 6-2, 6-2, 6-3, in the second and deciding reverse singles match, completing Serbia's dramatic comeback.
Troicki racked up eight service breaks to only two for Llodra, who had helped give France the upper hand at 2-1 thanks to Saturday's tense doubles win with Arnaud Clement.
But Djokovic posted a relatively easy 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 over Gael Monfils before a cheering home crowd in Sunday's first match to set up Troicki's decisive fifth-match victory.
Djokovic broke the 12th-ranked Monfils twice in each of the first two sets and breezed home for the victory.
"This is one of the best matches I've played in my career in the circumstances," Djokovic said.
