NHL: Florida 2, Phoenix 1 (SO)

GLENDALE, Ariz., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Michael Frolik came through in the fifth round of a shootout Saturday to finally bring Florida a 2-1 win over Phoenix.

Both sides scored twice in the opening three rounds and neither could produce a goal in the fourth. Frolik also scored in regulation, helping the Panthers end a two-game losing streak.

Frolik put a slap shot past Ilya Bryzgalov with 9:39 to play in the second period and Martin Hanzal tied it less than 6 minutes later.

Scott Clemmensen saved 40 shots in the victory. He has a 2-4 record this season while seeing limited action in relief of Tomas Vokoun. Bryzgalov made 36 saves in defeat.

Phoenix has lost three out of four following a seven-game winning streak.
