EAST LANSING, Mich., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Durrell Summers helped turn a close game into a rout during the second half Saturday, leading No. 6 Michigan State to a 74-39 whipping of Bowling Green.

The Falcons made only 15 field goals and shot a mere 27 percent from the field while falling to 1-7.

Summers scored 14 points and Draymond Green had 10 points and 12 rebounds. Michigan State (6-2) bounced back from a loss to No. 1 Duke on Wednesday.

The Michigan State lead was only two points during the early stages of the second half before the Spartans finished the game on a 49-16 run. The Spartans won the rebounding battle 51-26 to make up for their 21 turnovers.

Bowling Green was led by Scott Thomas with 11 points.
