Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24


SUN CITY, South Africa, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- World No. 1 Lee Westwood shot an 8-under-par 64 Friday to take a 3-shot lead at the halfway mark of the Nedbank Challenge in Sun City, South Africa.
Westwood was at 12-under 132 at the Gary Player Country Club.
Ross Fisher (68) held second place at 135 .
Padraig Harrington (72), the first-round leader, shared third at 138 with Edoardo Molinari (67) and Miguel Angel Jimenez (69).
Robert Allenby, the defending champion, shot a 70 and was tied for seventh place at 4-under.
Westwood's bogey-free round included back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth and 14th and 15th holes.
