Hawks' Johnson to miss 4-to-6 weeks

ATLANTA, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson will be out 4-to-6 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic elbow surgery, the team said Wednesday.

Team officials said Johnson experienced pain in his right elbow Tuesday, underwent tests and decided to have surgery after getting a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.

The procedure will be performed within a few days, the Hawks said.

Johnson, a four-time all-star, has put up averages of 17.1 points, 5.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 18 games this season.

He boasts 10-year career averages of 17.6 points, 4.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
