Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

GLENDALE, Ariz., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Brian Westbrook ran for 136 yards and scored a touchdown Monday, keying the San Francisco 49ers' 27-6 victory over Arizona.
Westbrook, subbing for injured running back Frank Gore, found the end zone on an 8-yard run with 7 minutes left in the half, putting the 49ers up 21-3 and effectively sealing the victory.
Troy Smith went 11-of-23 passing for 129 yards, hooking up with Michael Crabtree on a 38-yard scoring strike in the first quarter for the 49ers (4-7), who won for the fourth time in six games.
The Cardinals (3-8) continued their poor season, losing for the sixth straight time. Their only offense came in the form of two field goals from Jay Feely.
