PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Willie Green came off the bench to help rally New Orleans in the second quarter Friday and the Hornets went on to defeat Portland 97-78.

New Orleans ended a two-game skid that had seen the Hornets lose for just the second and third times this season.

Portland took a seven-point lead in the first period, but New Orleans outscored the Trail Blazers by 13 in the second and eventually pulled away.

Green scored 19 points, Trevor Ariza had 18 and Chris Paul scored 16 points to go with 13 assists.

Brandon Roy, having missed Golden State's previous three games with a knee injury, led the Warriors with 27. Portland has lost back-to-back games and four of its last six.
