
BLACKSBURG, Va., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Tyrod Taylor threw for 176 yards and a touchdown and Ryan Williams ran for a pair of touchdowns in 13th-ranked Virginia Tech's 37-7 win over Virginia Saturday.
The Hokies (10-2, 8-0 ACC) won their ninth consecutive game and will face either Florida State or North Carolina State in the conference championship game.
The Virginian Tech defense limited Virginia (4-8, 1-7) to 291 yards of total offense and kept the Cavaliers off the scoreboard until Ross Metheny hit Keith Payne with a 24-yard touchdown pass with 2:59 left in the game.
Marc Verica started at quarterback for Virginia. He was 12-of-20 for 168 yards and was intercepted once.
Taylor finished the day 13-of-23 for 176 yards and one touchdown. Williams carried the ball 17 yards for a modest 24 yards but scored on runs of 5 and 15 yards. David Wilson had 83 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
