SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Jamal Mayers scored his first goal of the season Wednesday and Patrick Marleau had two late tallies to bring San Jose a 5-2 win over Chicago.
Mayers, among the league's Top 10 in penalty minutes, gave the Sharks a 2-0 lead early in the second period.
The Blackhawks twice closed their deficit to a goal, but Marleau ended any thoughts of a comeback by producing two scores over the final 6:13. He gave San Jose a 4-2 lead with a power-play tally and then scored into an empty net with 3 seconds to play.
San Jose halted a three-game losing streak and gave Marty Turco another tough outing. Turco allowed four goals on 30 shots after having given up seven goals to Calgary in his previous appearance last week.
Antti Niemi stopped 31-of-33 shots to get the win.
