Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Ales Hemsky put Edmonton ahead late in the third period Sunday, sending the Oilers to a 4-2 victory over Anaheim.
Hemsky's sixth tally of the year with less than 7 minutes left broke a 2-2 tie and Tom Gilbert added an empty-netter for the Oilers, who broke a six-game losing streak and posted only their fifth win in their last 35 road games.
Sam Gagner and Taylor Hall notched first-period goals and Devan Dubnyk turned aside 38-of-40 shots, including 17 in the first period.
Bobby Ryan and Saku Koivu both scored their ninth goals of the season for the Ducks, who have gone winless in their last five games.
Jonas Hiller yielded three goals on 25 shots for Anaheim.
