MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Injured Minnesota wide receiver Sidney Rice has been activated from the physically unable to perform list, the Vikings said Saturday.

Rice, who earned a Pro Bowl berth last year while teaming with quarterback Brett Favre, was added to the roster for the first time this season after suffering a hip injury during the Vikes' loss to New Orleans in last year's NFC championship game.

Minnesota has struggled without him, going 3-6 this season. They face Green Bay at home Sunday.

Rice, 24, hauled in 83 passes for 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns last season, playing all 16 games.

This week, he shot down speculation he wasn't interested in returning to a losing team, writing on his blog, "What's going on now is definitely not about my contract. That's a bunch of bull. I wouldn't dare do the fans or my teammates like that."
