OAKLAND, Calif., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- The Oakland Athletics have traded outfielder Rajai Davis to the Toronto Blue Jays for a pair of minor-leaguers, the teams said Wednesday.
Coming to Oakland from Toronto in the deal were relievers Trystan Magnuson and Danny Farquhar.
The consistent Davis, 30, was one of the A's most dependable offensive players in the last two seasons and also is one of the fastest players in the game. He hit .284 with five homers and 52 RBI and stole a career-high 50 bases last season.
But he stood to make a big raise via arbitration from his current salary of $1.35 million, the Oakland Tribune reported.
Magnuson, 25, a 6-foot-7 right-hander, compiled a 3-0 record with a 2.58 ERA in 46 appearances with Class AA New Hampshire last season, while Farquhar, 23, went 4-3 with a 3.52 ERA in 53 appearances and was tied for third in the Eastern League with 17 saves, the newspaper said.
