NEW YORK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Montreal goaltender Carey Price, who won three games last week, was selected the No. 1 star of the week Monday by the NHL.
The league picks three players as stars of the week. While Price took the top honors, Pittsburgh center Sidney Crosby and Washington left wing Alexander Semin were also selected for games played Nov. 8-14.
Price went 3-0-0 last week with a 1.00 goals-against average and .970 save percentage. He had 34 saves in Montreal's 2-0 win over Vancouver and also beat Boston and Carolina as the Canadiens opened a four-point lead in the NHL Northeast Division.
Crosby had three goals and five assists over the Penguins' three games last week. He is second in the league with 27 points this season.
Semin had four goals and four assists in a 3-1 week for Washington. He had a hat trick -- all goals coming in the third period -- and two assists in a win over Tampa Bay.
