Vettel wins 2010 F1 drivers' title

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Sebastian Vettel won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Sunday and became the youngest driver to win the world championship.

Vettel, driving for Red Bull Racing, started at the pole position but took the lead for good with 15 laps to go in the 55-lap race. He finished 10 seconds ahead of McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.

It was the fifth Grand Prix win this year for Vettel, 23, who has 10 wins in his Formula One career. He also won at Abu Dhabi last year.

McLaren's Jenson Button was third Sunday while Mercedes GP's Nico Rosberg was fourth and Renault's Robert Kubica was fifth.

Vettel edged Fernando Alonso, who drives for Ferrari, by four points for the driver's title. Alonso finished in seventh Sunday.

Mark Webber finished 2010 in third on the drivers' standings, 14 points back by Vettel while Hamilton was fourth and Button, who won the drivers' title last year, fifth on that list.
