NHL: San Jose 4, Calgary 3

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Logan Couture notched the eventual winning goal late in the third period Saturday and the San Jose Sharks went on to down Calgary 4-3.

With the Sharks up 3-2, Ryane Clowe broke in on goal down the left side and found Couture free across the ice. He fed him a perfect pass and Couture unleashed a shot past Mikka Kiprusoff for a 4-2 advantage.

The Sharks, who won for the third time in four games, ended up needing the goal when Jerome Iginla scored for Calgary with 37 seconds left. But Antti Niemi (31 saves) was solid the rest of the way.

Joe Thornton, Clowe and Joe Pavelski also scored for San Jose.

Mark Giordano and Jay Bouwmeester tallied for Calgary and Kiprusoff turned aside 31-of-35 shots.
