
NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Marian Gaborik scored his second hat trick as a Ranger and added an assist Sunday, sparking New York to a 8-2 rout of Edmonton.
Gaborik, who returned to the Rangers lineup Thursday after missing three weeks with a shoulder injury, scored his first three goals of the year and Alexander Frolov added two goals and a pair of helpers for New York.
Ruslan Fedotenko contributed a goal and an assist and Erik Christensen chipped in with three helpers as the Rangers improved to 4-5-1 at home.
Matin Biron stopped 19-of-21 shots in the victory.
Nikolai Khabibulin was bombed for all eight tallies in 31 attempts for Edmonton, which has surrendered 25 goals over a four-game span.
Ryan Jones and Shawn Horcoff got on the board for the Oilers.
