
MADISON, Wis., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Montee Ball filled in for injured John Clay in fine fashion Saturday by running for three touchdowns in No. 5 Wisconsin's 83-20 rout of Indiana.
Ball ran for 167 yards on 22 carries for Wisconsin (9-1, 5-1 Big Ten) while Clay sat out the game with a sprained knee.
The Badgers racked up 597 yards of total offense and did not turn the ball over en route to their fifth consecutive victory.
Scott Tolzien was 15-of-18 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns. James White ran for two touchdowns.
Wisconsin led 10-7 after one quarter and then outscored the Hoosiers (4-6, 0-6) 28-3 in the second quarter to pull away.
Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell threw for 63 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with a hip injury in the second quarter. His replacements, Dusty Kiel and Edward Wright-Baker, were a combined 3-for-10 for 86 yards and one touchdown.
