COL BKB: Virginia Tech 70, Campbell 60

BLACKSBURG, Va., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Malcolm Delaney scored 20 points Friday and No. 23 Virginia Tech held Campbell scoreless for 8 minutes of the second half for a 70-60 victory.

The Fighting Camels trailed by just seven points with 11:20 to play, but then suffered through a scoring drought while the Hokies were building their lead to 18.

Terrell Bell chipped in 17 points for the Hokies, who are hoping for their first NCAA Tournament berth in four seasons. Dorenzo Hudson added 10 and Jeff Allen scored nine.

Campbell was led by Eric Griffin with 15 points. The Fighting Camels wound up tied for the regular-season title in the Atlantic Sun Conference a year ago.
