ST. LOUIS, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Cincinnati third baseman Scott Rolen was announced Wednesday as a winner of his eighth Gold Glove when the National League defensive awards were released.

While it was the eighth Gold Glove overall for Rolen, it was his first since 2006. He previously won three Gold Gloves while with the Philadelphia Phillies (1998, 2000, '01) and four (2002, '03, '04, '06) when he played for St. Louis.

St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina and Philadelphia outfielder Shane Victorino each won their third consecutive Gold Glove. Other National League outfielders to win 2010 Gold Gloves were Houston's Michael Bourn, who also won last year, and first-time honoree Carlos Gonzalez of Colorado.

St. Louis first baseman Albert Pujols, who won previously in 2006, and Cincinnati second baseman Brandon Phillips, a winner in 2008, were joined by Rolen and Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who picked up his first Gold Glove, in the infield.

Cincinnati Bronson Arroyo, another first-time winner, won among the league's pitchers.

Gold Gloves are determined by a vote of manager and coaches, who aren't allowed to vote for members of their own teams.
