DAVIE, Fla., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Chad Pennington has been given the start at quarterback for the Miami Dolphins in their Sunday game against Tennessee, Miami Coach Tony Sparano said.
Sparano said Wednesday he was switching to Pennington from Chad Henne going into the second half of the season. The Dolphins are 4-4 this year, including 0-3 at home.
Henne had three interceptions in last week's 26-10 loss at Baltimore. For the season he's completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 1,900 and eight touchdowns. He's also been intercepted 10 times.
Pennington is in his third season with Miami. He helped the team to the AFC East title in 2008 but missed nearly all of last season with a shoulder injury.
The injury opened a slot for Henne to move into the starting position.
Pennington is yet to play this season. The New York Jets made him the 18th overall selection in the 2000 draft and he played for New York until 2008 when he was released by the Jets when they signed Brett Favre.
