Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CHICAGO, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Jason LaBarbera blanked Chicago over the final two periods Wednesday and finished with 35 saves in Phoenix's 2-1 win over the Blackhawks.
It was the first win of the season for LaBarbera and came in his fourth appearance.
The Phoenix goals were scored 35 seconds apart in the second period by Eric Belanger and Kyle Turris, and the Coyotes held on to end a three-game losing streak. Chicago has dropped four straight home contests.
Bryan Bickell scored the only goal against LaBarbera midway through the opening period. LaBarbera brought a 4.74 goals-against average into the game.
Marty Turco gave up the two goals on 22 shots.
