NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- The drunken driving case of New York Jets receiver Braylon Edwards has been adjourned until January so both sides in the case can file motions, a judge ruled.

Edwards, charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated, was pulled over on Manhattan's West Side on Sept. 21 and, according to the criminal complaint, registered a blood-alcohol content of .16, twice the legal limit, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported.

"The schedule reflects what's normally done in most cases," Edwards' attorney Peter Frankel said outside Manhattan Criminal Court Tuesday. "I can tell you without hesitation it's not getting any special treatment."

Defense motions are due Dec. 1 and the district attorney's office will submit theirs at the Jan. 11 court date.

Frankel says discovery information shared with the DA's office includes material he believes is "favorable" to his client.

"The more I learn," Frankel said, "the more comfortable I feel."
