Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Mike Green's power-play goal 29 seconds into overtime Sunday delivered the Washington Capitals a 3-2 victory over Philadelphia.
With Sean O'Donnell off on a boarding penalty, the Caps were on a 4-on-3 power play when Green collected the puck at the point and unleashed a slap shot that found its way past Sergei Bobrovsky and into the net.
Alexander Semin and Eric Fehr also scored to help the Caps post their fourth straight win. Goalie Braden Holtby earned a victory in his first NHL start, making 23 saves.
The Flyers saw their six-game winning streak snapped. Nikolay Zherdev and Ville Leino scored for Philadelphia and Bobrovsky stopped 36 shots.
