CARSON, Calif., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Edson Buddle and Omar Gonzalez scored goals Sunday, sending the Los Angeles Galaxy to a conference semifinal series victory with a 2-1 win over Seattle.
The Galaxy entered the second leg of their total-goals, two-game series with the Sounders up 1-0, and Los Angeles came out aggressively.
Buddle scored in the 19th minute and Gonzalez added another goal 8 minutes later for a 3-0 aggregate advantage and the Galaxy never looked back.
Steve Zakuani got the Sounders a goal in the 86th minute, but it was too little, too late, and the Galaxy moved on to the Western Conference final.
There they will face FC Dallas, which eliminated defending champ Real Salt Lake Saturday.
The Galaxy remain unbeaten at home in the post-season since 1998, going 16-0-1 since then.
