BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Benoit Pouliot scored the tying and go-ahead goals in the second period Friday, bringing the Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 victory over Buffalo.
The Canadiens won for the fifth time in seven games and handed the Sabres their fifth straight loss.
Jordan Leopold gave Buffalo a 2-1 lead 9:02 into the second period but Pouliot tied it just 46 seconds later on a wrist shot that bested Patrick Lalime.
Pouliot scored again on a slapshot with 2:48 left in the second and Carey Price protected the lead the rest of the way.
Price, who has allowed 2.44 goals a game this season, made 29 saves. Lalime gave up three goals on 32 shots.
