Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DALLAS, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Loui Eriksson scored twice Wednesday, one of the goals coming on a penalty shot, sending the Dallas Stars to a 5-2 decision over Pittsburgh.
Dallas already had a 3-1 lead when Eriksson was successful on his penalty shot with 8:09 to go in the second period. He added his seventh goal of the season 5:13 into the third.
Stephane Robidas started the Dallas scoring with a slapshot from just inside the blue line that made it past a screened Brent Johnson.
Kari Lehtonen had 21 saves in helping the Stars defeat the Penguins for the first time in six meetings.
Johnson allowed all five goals on 29 shots. Pittsburgh has dropped four of its last five.
