PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Elton Brand scored 25 points Wednesday and Philadelphia brought Doug Collins his first win as coach of the 76ers with a 101-75 whipping of Indiana.
Collins, however, was not around to see the completion of his initial victory with the team after suffering symptoms of vertigo at halftime. He experienced the same problem during the exhibition season, causing him to lose time with the club.
He had been on the bench for each of the previous four regular-season contests, all of which were losses.
Assistant Michael Curry led the team in the second half, when the 76ers easily protected a big lead. They led by 25 after one period and by 36 at the half.
Thaddeus Young added 16 points for Philadelphia and Evan Turner had 12. The 76ers held Indiana to 31 percent shooting from the field.
Darren Collison was the high scorer for Indiana with 11. Danny Granger made 2-of-14 shots and had seven points.
Indiana had defeated Philadelphia Saturday.
