DETROIT, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Matthew Stafford tossed a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to Calvin Johnson Sunday, rallying the Detroit Lions to a 37-25 victory over Washington.

The Lions (2-5) were behind 19-14 early in the final frame when Stafford went to work. His 7-yard scoring strike to Johnson with 8:21 left in the game put Detroit up 20-19. The Redskins answered when Brandon Banks returned the ensuing kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown and a 25-20 Washington lead.

But Stafford (26-of-45, 212 yards, four touchdowns) struck again with 3:12 left in the game. This time he found Johnson with a 10-yard TD pass and added a 2-point conversion to put the Lions up for good at 28-25.

Detroit iced the game with a 32-yard Jason Hanson field goal and Ndamukong Suh returned a fumble by Rex Grossman 17 yards for a touchdown.

Donovan McNabb went 17-of-30 for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Washington (4-4). Grossman played for the final two drives.
