COL FB: N. Carolina St. 28, Florida St. 24

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Russell Wilson's 1-yard touchdown pass to George Bryan with 2:40 remaining Thursday gave North Carolina State a 28-24 upset win over No. 15 Florida State.

The Wolfpack preserved the victory when Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder fumbled the ball away on the North Carolina State 4-yard line with less than a minute to play.

Wilson ran for three touchdowns in addition to his scoring pass, rallying North Carolina State from a 14-point halftime deficit into a 21-21 tie in the third period.

Florida State regained the lead with 9:07 to play on a 31-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins, but North Carolina State then drove 70 yards in 13 plays to the winning touchdown.

The Wolfpack converted on fourth down during the march when Wilson threw a 35-yard pass to Darrell Davis.

Wilson completed 18-of-28 passes for 178 yards and ran 19 times for 69 yards. He scored on a 1-yard run in the opening period and on runs of 10 and 20 yards in the third.

Ponder ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, all in the second quarter.

Florida State suffered its first Atlantic Coast Conference loss, falling to 4-1 in the Atlantic Division. Maryland and North Carolina State are both 3-1 in the division.

The Seminoles and Wolfpack have 6-2 marks for the season.
