COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Kyle Wilson and Derick Brassard tallied goals and the Columbus Blue Jackets held on Monday for a 2-1 decision over Philadelphia.
Wilson got the Blue Jackets' first goal in the opening period, gobbling up a rebound left by Flyers goalie Brian Boucher after Chris Clark fired the original shot.
Brassard's power-play wrist shot made it 2-0 Columbus midway through the second frame. He found the net after the Blue Jackets applied continuous pressure on the Philadelphia goal with a man-advantage.
Mathieu Garon stopped 28-of-29 shots for Columbus, which won for the fourth time in five games.
Ville Leino got the only goal for the Flyers, who got off 12 shots in the final period but could muster only the single tally.
Boucher turned aside 23-of-25 shots in the defeat.
