Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Guillermo Barros Schelotto, Emilio Renteria and Andres Mendoza scored Sunday to propel the Columbus Crew to a 3-1 decision over Philadelphia.
Schelotto scored his ninth goal of the season in the 15th minute on a penalty kick and the Crew made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute when Renteria scored on a breakaway.
Mendoza added another tally in the 79th minute for Columbus (14-8-8), which finished the regular season by snapping a six-game winless streak to head into the playoffs on a positive note.
Sebastian Le Toux got the only goal for the expansion Union, which finished their inaugural MLS season with an 8-15-7 record.
