CARSON, Calif., Oct. 24 (UPI) -- The retiring Brian McBride scored his 80th and final career MLS goal Saturday, helping the Chicago Fire to defeat Chivas USA 4-1.

McBride, who ended his illustrious career Saturday in the Fire's season finale, scored on a pretty between-the-legs backheel shot in the 39th minute, assisted by Freddie Ljungberg.

The American star, who played on the 1998, 2002 and 2006 U.S. World Cup squads, notched his sixth goal of the year for Chicago (9-12-9), which finished fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Ljungberg, Calen Carr and Baggio Husidic also found the net for the Fire.

Chivas (8-18-4), which finished last in the Western Conference, got its only tally from Giancarlo Maldonado in the 57th minute.
