KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Jimin Kang had birdies on three of her last four holes Sunday and claimed a come-from-behind victory at the LPGA Malaysia golf tournament.

Kang started the third round three strokes off the lead but had a 6-under-par 65 Sunday and won by a stroke. It was her second LPGA title but first in nearly 5 1/2 years.

She had a 54-hole total of 9-under 204, just ahead of Juli Inkster's 8-under 203. Inkster shot 4-under 67, including an 18th hole bogey, in the final round. Second-round co-leader Maria Hjorth (71 Sunday) tied Mika Miyazato (69), who was a first-round co-leader, for third.

Kang had a birdie and a bogey to open her Sunday round and made the turn at 2-under after birdies at Nos. 4 and 7. She had a birdie at the 12th hole before closing with birdies at 15, 16 and 18.

Kang, playing ahead of Inkster, admitted to watching the scoreboard and seeing that Inkster, who charged to the lead with consecutive birdies on No. 15-17, was at 9-under. But after Kang made her birdie putt at 18, Inkster fell off with a bogey.

Kang won $270,000 for the title while Inkster took home $174,239. Hjorth and Miyazato each took $112,089.
