Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BOSTON, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Henrik Lundqvist sparkled in net Saturday, stopping 35-of-37 Boston shots in the New York Rangers' 3-2 victory over the Bruins.
Lundqvist turned aside 10 shots in the third period, enabling the Rangers to cling to a one-goal lead and boost New York to a second straight win for the first time this season.
Alexander Frolov and Artem Anisimov each got first-period markers and Marc Staal's first goal of the year upped the Rangers' lead to 3-1 just 48 seconds into the middle frame.
The Bruins saw their four-game winning streak snapped with the setback. Nathan Horton notched Boston's only goal.
Zdeno Chara also found the net and netminder Tuukka Rask let in three goals on 30 shots.
