Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NASHVILLE, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Rene Bourque scored 2:10 into overtime Tuesday, handing the Calgary Flames a 1-0 victory over Nashville in a goaltenders' duel.
Bourque's first goal of the season off assists from Brendan Morrison and Ian White made a winner of Mikka Kiprusoff, who stopped all 34 shots he faced for the Flames.
Calgary raised its record to 3-2 in the season's early going.
Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne, meanwhile, matched Kiprusoff with 34 saves through regulation. The Predators, however, could not manage a shot in the extra frame.
Nashville has yet to lose in regulation time so far this year, going 3-0-2.
