NHL: Calgary 5, Edmonton 3

CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Jerome Iginla scored his first goal of the year Saturday, lifting the Calgary Flames to a 5-3 comeback victory over Edmonton.

Trailing 3-2 entering the final period, Niklas Hagman got the equalizer 4:29 into the frame and, with Ladislav Smid off on a holding penalty, Iginla notched a power-play tally 3 minutes later.

Alex Tanguay got the Flames' first goal and added an empty-netter to seal the win for Calgary, when had gone 1-for-13 on the power play entering the contest.

Mikka Kiprusoff stopped 27-of-30 shots in the win.

Ales Hemsky, Dustin Penner and Magnus Paajarvi scored for Edmonton, which fell to 2-22-2 on the road stretching back to last season.
