Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Shalrie Joseph's goal in the 31st minute Saturday provided New England a 1-0 win over Kansas City, eliminating the Wizards from post-season contention.
Kansas City needed to win its last two games and have the Colorado Rapids drop its last two to get to the playoffs. But Joseph's fourth goal of the season ended that possibility.
The Wizards (10-13-6) got four shots on goal but New England goalie Bobby Shuttleworth, making his fourth start, handled them all for his first shutout.
New England (9-15-5), also out of the playoff picture, won its second straight.
